Preparing for Your First Visit

It is very important to realize that pelvic floor problems, such as prolapse or incontinence, are very common, and that you are not alone if you are suffering from them.  Many women wonder whether these are “serious” problems; although they aren’t usually dangerous or life-threatening, they can have a very significant impact on a woman’s quality of life.  Do your best not to get anxious or embarrassed – help is available, and it is always worth learning what options are available to you.

This tool provides you with a general sense of what to expect during your first visit with a urogynecologist. Even if you don’t fill in the answers ahead of time, just reviewing the information ahead of time will allow you to be better prepared.
