The AUGS Foundation

The American Urogynecologic Society Foundation, founded in 2001, supports programs designed to:

  • Serve patients by raising public awareness about pelvic floor disorders, providing reliable information about effective treatments available and supporting the role specialists can play in women’s health care planning. This Web site, www.mypelvichealth.org, is the Foundation’s primary vehicle for communicating with women about pelvic floor disorders.
  • Serve the medical profession by supporting promising, innovative research regarding the causes, prevention, cure and treatment of pelvic floor disorders. View currently funded research and available grants by visiting our Research Initiatives section.

The American Urogynecologic Society (AUGS), founded in 1979, is the premier society dedicated to research and education in urogynecology, and the detection, prevention and treatment of female lower urinary tract disorders and pelvic floor disorders. Our mission is to represent health care professionals and scientists dedicated to improving the lives of women with pelvic floor disorders, such as pelvic prolapse and bowel and bladder control problems. By encouraging research and education, AUGS will promote the highest standards of practice in the prevention and treatment of these disorders in an ethical, safe and effective manner.
